Two loud explosions rocked the Terminus Market area on Murtala Mohammed Way, Jos, Plateau State on Tuesday afternoon. About 200 people are believed to have died as a result of the explosions which occurred within 15 minutes of each other.
A Peugeot J5 Van with registration number XG 148 BLD exploded and while victims were still receiving help, a seco9ond explosion went off from a Toyota van.
The Jos explosion occurred less than 72 hours after a bomb was detonated in Kano.
The Boko Haram sect is believed to be behind the blasts as the group has claimed responsibility for suicide bombings in the past. The Nyanya blasts that shook Abuja weeks ago followed the same pattern.
