The governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Otunba Iyiola Omisore has taken exception to a statement credited to the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) that the PDP can only win by rigging.
This was made known via a statement signed by Diran Odeyemi, the Director, Media and Strategy of the Omisore Campaign Organization. Below is the full text of the statement:
“Our attention has been drawn to a statement credited to the national leader of All Progressives Congress, APC, Mr. Bola Tinubu in which he made an unsubstantiated and unguarded statement that PDP can only win election through rigging.
Ordinarily, we wouldn’t have join issues with him knowing full well that the August 9 gubernatorial election will vindicate the PDP, but in order to put the issues in proper perspective, we want to let every discerning Nigerians particularly Osun indigenes know that Mr. Tinubu is fixated because of the defeat starring his sidekick, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola in the face.
The rig and roast campaign that he has embarked on with Ogbeni Aregbesola is to prepare the ground for the mayhem they planned to unleash on the people once they lose, which is imminent.
It is an incontrovertible fact that Tinubu has made Osun a satellite state of Lagos and all the contracts have been reserved only for Tinubu, Ogbeni Aregbesola, his wife Serifat, who has appropriated sewing business to herself only and their son Kabiru who got N8.5bn Opon Imo contract.
We have discovered that by threatening fire and brimstone should the APC lose the election, Tinubu and Aregbesola were merely trying to protect their business empire in Osun.
We are using this medium to appeal to parents and guardians to ensure that their children/wards do not become a willing tool in the hands of these desperate politicians to perpetrate evil against mankind.
It is an open secret that Ogbeni Aregbesola has bastardized our education system which is our pride that the results of NECO and WAEC of 2013 were nothing to write home about.
The APC inspite of its grandstanding lost woefully in Ondo and Anambra gubernatorial elections because people are now seeing through the deceit and empty promises where they hold sway.
Let Tinubu and Aregbesola be prepared to commit political hara-kiri since the people have rejected them and no amount of blood letting campaign will dissuade the people from voting for the PDP on August 9.”
