A former Governor of Lagos State, Sir Michael Otedola has died. Otedola, a statesman and father of billionaire businessman, Femi Otedola died on Monday.
The deceased, who passed on at 87 was known to be an international journalist, PR consultant, member of corporate boards and philanthropist.
He was born on July 16, 1926 in Epe, Lagos State.
He was Governor of Lagos State between 1992 and 1993 during the botched 3rd Republic and many still remember him for facilitating a campus of the Yaba College of Technology in Epe, where he hailed from. He was elected on the platform of the National Republican Convention (NRC), a feat many believed was catalyzed by the clash between Chief Dapo Sarumi and Prof Femi Agbalajobi who were both top contenders for the position then.
