Ekiti state Governor-elect, Mr. Ayo Fayose, has thanked the people of the state for voting him back into office.
He said he would continue with his masses-oriented programmes he was known for.
Addressing a press conference, Fayose, said he won the election because he was closer to the common people.
He also expressed readiness to work with Governor Kayode Fayemi and other candidates that contested the election.
Fayose confirmed that Fayemi called him at the early hours of Sunday to congratulate him and concede defeat, saying: “Governor Fayemi has done his best and he remains a leader of the state. For any governor, there is a time, term and tenure but the state will always remain.”
He appreciated the efforts of security agencies for their roles in the election, while he called for the release of all who were arrested in the course of the election for various offenses.
