Dr. Maryam Ali, wife of Dr. Ahmadu Ali, a former National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has again found her way into the news for the wrong reasons.
Dr. Ali, who was appointed a special adviser to President Goodluck Jonathan on Friday threw decorum to the wind as she slapped the Delta State Chairman of the PDP during a stakeholders’ meeting at the party secretariat in Asaba, Delta State.
What earned Chief Peter Nwaoboshi the slap was that he asked Dr. Ali to leave a seat which had been reportedly reserved for the Deputy Governor, Prof. Amos Utuama and sit down elsewhere.
The move infuriated the former Chairman’s wife.
Street Journal’s findings have revealed that Ali and Utuama are both aspiring for the Delta North Senatorial position presently occupied by Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa. Mrs Ali contested for the same position in 2007 and 2011.
In July, 2011, Mrs Ali was alleged to have assaulted officials of the Abuja Municipal Management Council near her Asokoro residence after which she went to the office of the council where she slapped on Mr Yusuf, a Director.
