Air Force Chopper Crashes in Borno!

A helicopter, belonging to the Nigeria Air Force on Monday crashed around Bama in Borno State. The helicopter was said to be on a training mission when the accident occurred. According to a statement signed by Brigadier General Chris Olukolade, the Director of Defence Information, the chopper, a Russian made Mi- 35 crashed due to technical fault.
Olukolade stated that the crash which is already being investigated was not as a result of enemy action.
He said “further details of the crash will be made known as soon as the investigation progresses.”
Meanwhile, reactions have started pouring in about the crash. Many have expressed surprise over what could make the Air Force be training pilots in Bama which is known to be a Boko Haram stronghold.
