99 days after members of the Boko Haram terrorist group abducted hundreds of schoolgirls in Chibok, Borno State on April 14, President Goodluck Jonathan on Tuesday held a meeting with parents of the abducted schoolgirls.
The meeting which was held behind closed-doors at the Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa, Abuja. Those who attended the meeting included 51 girls who escaped from their abductors, parents of escaped girls, parents of girls still in captivity as well as opinion and community leaders from Chibok.
Apart from President Jonathan, the President of the Senate, David Mark; Governor Kashim Shettima of Borno State; Governor Isa Yuguda of Bauchi State; members of the Federal Executive Council as well as service chiefs were also in attendance.
The meeting started around 11.20 am. Journalists were asked to leave the venue as the meeting commenced.
