“Finance Commissioner’s Confession Has Vindicated Us”- Osun PDP

The Osun State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has said the confession of Osun State Commissioner for Finance, Dr Wale Bolorunduro, that he was in Delta after several days of denial, has vindicated the party.
Dr Bolorunduro, who was reportedly arrested in a hotel in Delta state, had hitherto denied the arrest until Friday when he, in a press release issued by his media aide, said he was actually in the state for a burial ceremony, but was never arrested by the police as claimed in the report.
But the PDP, in a release issued by Prince Diran Odeyemi, the director of media, Omisore Campaign Organisation, and made available to newsmen in Osogbo yesterday, insisted that Bolorunduro went to Delta state to recruit militants that have already been stationed in headquarters of each of the 30 local government areas and Modakeke Area Office in the state.
The statement further averred that an instant pointer to the claims by PDP was the explosion in Agbede-gbede area in Ile Ife last week, predicting that more of such attacks may be in the pipeline, if steps are not taken by the concerned authorities.
The PDP also berated Bolorunduro for initially denying going to Delta State and added that the report that the commissioner was picked up by the police with a bullion van containing money was true.
“Why did he initially deny going to Delta state? Admitting that he went to the state after days of denial, has vindicated us and we also insist that Bolorunduro, one of the major actors in the fading administration of Ogbeni Aregbesola, was caught with a bullion van containing money meant to pay already recruited militants that APC intends to use to disrupt Osun governorship poll.
“An explosion that happened in Ife last week, we believed was a handiwork of these criminals that have been brought to the state by Aregbesola, through his Finance commissioner, Wale Bolorunduro and more of such attacks are being planned to disrupt Osun governorship poll,” the statement said.
The party however urged the presidency, all security agencies to ensure proper investigation of Bolorunduro’s trip to Delta state and ensure all those hell bent on disrupting the peace of Osun state are brought to book.
