The senior female doctor of First Foundation Hospital,
Lagos, Dr. Ameyo Adadevoh, who treated Liberian-
American Ebola victim, Patrick Sawyer, has died. Her death was confirmed by the Minister of Health, Prof. Onyebuchi Chukwu on Tuesday.
Though the minister did not mention the Doctor’s name, he disclosed that she died on Tuesday evening.
Dr. Adadevoh’s death makes her the fifth person to die of EVD in Nigeria.
It was contained in a statement signed by Professor Chukwu’s spokesperson, Dan Nowmeh, that “the Honourable Minister of Health,Prof. Onyebuchi Chukwu, regrets to announce the death,
this evening, of one of the primary contacts of the index Ebola Virus Disease case, the most senior doctor who participated in the management of the patient, a female consultant physician.
