Spanish Priest With Ebola Lands in Madrid For Treatment

As the Ebola Virus Disease continues to wreak havoc in West Africa, the Spanish government on Thursday confirmed the arrival of Miguel Pajares, a Spanish priest who contracted the Ebola virus while working in Monrovia, Liberia. The priest landed in Madrid for treatment.
The Liberian Government had on Wednesday shut down the hospital where the priest and six other staff who contracted the virus were being taken care of.
The President, Ellen Johnson Sirleaf has also declared a state of emergency in the country as it continues to battle the outbreak of the deadly virus.
She said some civil liberties might be suspended.
No fewer than 932 lives have been lost to the disease in West Africa.
