The escaped Chibok girls reported to have been assured of sponsorship to study in different institutions across the nation and abroad, are now crying of neglect and abandonment at the government lodges in Maiduguri where the state government are currently keeping them.
The escaped girls, according to reports are complaining that close to 50 of them were dumped in single room in one of the government lodges.
One of the girls who volunteered to speak was quoted as saying, “over 50 of us were kept in a single room with no enough food, as only two persons were left to take care of our feeding.
“Most of us came with only two or three pairs of cloths but we were only given N10, 000, five wrappers and a phone for all that while”.
According to her, the principal of the school usually comes and picks them in Batches to undisclosed locations after seizing their phones to deny them of communicating with their parents and loved ones.
“As I am speaking to you they picked 26 of us mostly Christians to unknown destination and just yesterday they picked another 13, remained only 15 of us, she complained.
She further stated that since they were brought in over a month ago they were not given enough food, thus leaving them to the pang of hunger since they do not have any alternative means of getting food to buy.
One of the parents told our correspondent on phone that his daughter also complained of abandonment since they came and no enough food, adding that the principal usually came to pick them in batches to unknown destinations.
He said already some of the girls had escaped and went back to Chibok, as according to her, they were tired of staying in captivity having been locked up in one place.
He further explained that the chairman had deceived them with promises to take their daughters to schools abroad, only to abandon them in Maiduguri for all this while
