President of Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Amaju Pinnick was stopped by security at the airport from flying to Namibia to cheer the Falcons to victory.
The Nigeria female team defeated Cameron 2-0 to lift the African Women’s Championship title but Pinnick was conspicuously missing from the final in Windhoek.
It can be authoritatively revealed that he was stopped at the airport, where he was supposed to board a flight to Namibia by men of the State Security Service (SSS).
We gathered he was prevented from attending the final as president of the NFF in respect to the Jos court order, which nullified the elections that brought him to power last week.
The court ordered Chris Giwa to be reinstated as president of the NFF, though the Pinnick-led board has appealed the pronouncement.
Their appeal for a stay of execution will be heard on Wednesday 28 of October 2014 in Jos as FIFA hammer looms over Nigeria for taking football matters to a civil court.
Both men were elected into same post at different intervals by two different congress of the crisis ridden NFF.
