A suburb of Ibadan is engulfed in communal crisis as natives between Erunmu and Lalupo are at war over a land dispute as at the time of filling this report. It was gathered that the communal conflict had been on for sometime as leaders of the affected communities tried to ensure an amicable settlement of the crisis.
The two communities that share a common boundary belong to different local government areas in Ibadan. While Lalupo is inLagelu local government council area, Erunmu is in Egeda local government council area.
The Street Journal gathered that crisis erupted in the early hours of this morning when restive youths from the two communities engaged one another in a fierce battle.
It was gathered that dangerous weapons of varied sizes were freely used leading to the death of an unconfirmed number of people while many sustained injuries.
It was however learnt that it took the timely intervention of a team of policemen and officers from Iyana-Ofa to restore normalcy in the area.
