The 19 All Progressives Congress lawmakers of the Ekiti State House of Assembly on Friday made a surprise re-entry into the state and suspended the leader of the seven Peoples Democratic Party lawmakers, Dele Olugbemi and others.
The lawmakers, who are members of the PDP, are Samuel Ajibola, Israel Olowo, Alex Ade Ojo, Mrs. Adunni Olayinka and Ayoka Fatumbi.
At the plenary held at a secret location in Ado-Ekiti and presided over by the embattled Speaker, Dr. Adewale Omirin, the APC lawmakers also nullified all legislative actions purportedly carried out by the PDP caucus.
Omirin, and 18 other members of the All Progressives Congress members in the Assembly said his faction would henceforth hold its sitting at the Ekiti State University, Ado Ekiti because of the level of insecurity in the State over the factional crisis rocking the Assembly.
At a sitting they held Friday in Ado Ekiti, they suspended the Speaker of the pro-Fayose lawmakers, Hon. Dele Olugbemi.
Speaking with newsmen via telephone about the sitting that was held secretly, Omirin said part of the decisions taken were the suspension of the pro-Fayose Speaker and six other lawmakers in that fold.
Omirin declared that the sitting was going to be a continuous exercise.
