Former governor of Ogun State, Gbenga Daniel, and former Minister of State for Defence, Musiliu Obanikoro, on Saturday urged voters to disregard propaganda and smear campaigns by the opposition parties against President Goodluck Jonathan.
The duo also urged the people of Lagos to disregard the All Progressives Congress (APC’s) call for continuity in the state and vote for the PDP governorship candidate, Jimi Agbaje.
While addressing party faithful at the inauguration of the Goodluck/Sambo Independent Support Team in Lagos, Daniel said that irrespective of the Boko Haram menace in Nigeria, Jonathan remained committed to the continued peace and stability of the country.
“We thank God that Jonathan has successfully almost completed his first term. It will be unjust not to allow him go a second time”, he said.
He said that after Jonathan’s administration, power should continue to rotate among all the ethnic zones in the country.
In his speech, Obanikoro said that a lot of mudslinging and misrepresentation had been made of the Jonathan’s administration by people desperate to get power at all cost.
“People are trying to sell blue as white to Nigerians. We cannot afford to go backward.
“What we are expecting are brighter days that the Jonathan/Sambo administration will bring not darker days.
“The change they are selling is backward change. That is why we are putting all energy to ensure victory for Jonathan and Agbaje in Lagos.
