Northern Governors, APC Condole With Jonathan Over Sister’s Death

Governors of the Nineteen Northern states in Nigeria have condoled with President Goodluck Jonathan over the dead of his sister, Nancy Jonathan-Olei.
Speaking through the Chairman of the Northern States Governors Forum, and Governor of Niger State, Mu’azu Aliyu, the governors described the death of Mrs. Jonathan-Olei, as unfortunate and a huge loss to the family.
In a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Israel Ebije, Mr. Aliyu sympathised with the first family and urged President Jonathan to see the death as an act of God.
He also prayed Allah grants the family of the bereaved the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
“Let me condole with President Goodluck Jonathan and his entire family over the death of his younger sister Mrs. Nancy Jonathan-Olei. Death is what we must all prepare for as human beings but whenever it happens like this, it only reminds us that we are mere mortals. It is therefore my prayer that Allah grant her Aljanatu Firdaus.”
Mr. Aliyu said the only way the family can immortalize her is by ensuring that all what she worked for are preserved, well propagated and constantly reflected upon, adding that her passing should bond the family the more.
The Chairman of the forum therefore urged President Jonathan to remain focused in his effort at providing the nation quality leadership insisting that the deceased will feel better if her passing does not affect his discharge of duty to the nation.
He therefore urged Nigerians to draw lessons from each death, adding that as mortals, it is instructive to leave positively before transition which he said is inevitable.
Mr. Aliyu also prayed God to grant the entire Jonathan family and other mourners the strength to pull through this difficult moment, with a call on them to pray for the repose of her soul.

Meanwhile, All Progressives Congress (APC) has also commiserated with President Goodluck Jonathan on the untimely death of his sister, Mrs. Nancy Jonathan-Olei, urging him to take solace in God for the unquantifiable loss.

National Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, in a signed statement, said the loss of a loved one is always an unfathomable tragedy, which is compounded when such death occurs at an unripe age.

”We pray that God will grant repose to the soul of the departed, comfort the President and his entire family and give them the strength to bear their loss.
