Although the agenda of the meeting was not made known, it may not be unconnected with the preparation for the election.
President Jonathan had earlier in the day met with all the candidates of the PDP from the state House of Assembly, governorship and national Assembly election.
Sources close to the presidency confided in the Street Journal that the meeting was aimed at resolving lingering crises rocking the party across the country. It was gathered that the president was miffed at the preponderance of bickering over primary elections conducted by the party state excos throughout the federation. Sources said President Jonathan made it abundantly clear to party chiefs that they would all be the losers if differences were not resolved in the interest of the party before the elections, given the threat posed by the opposition, APC.
