*Jumoke Akinjide Assures Oyo traders Of Better Life.
For President Goodluck Jonathan, these are indeed good times as thousands of traders from across the 33local government areas of Oyo state converged on Ibadan to pledge their support for his re-election.
This happened just as thousands of other sets of traders, artisans , youths and others did a road show covering the length and breadth of Ibadan North West and Ibadan South West Federal Constituency in support of President Goodluck Jonathan, Senator Teslim Folarin and all the candidates of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
The PDP supporters were received at the Oyo State PDP Presidential Campaign Organization by Engnr Femi Babalola, Professor Soji Adejumo, Professor Taoheed Adedoja and Alhaji Kehinde Olaosebikan on behalf of the Coordinator for the organization, Oloye Jumoke Akinjide.
Addressing the mammoth crowd Engineer Femi Babalola thanked them for the peaceful show of solidarity for the President and PDP assuring them that President Goodluck Jonathan would re double his efforts in making life better for all the masses of Oyo State and give greater opportunities to the less privileged in his second term in office
Towards this end, Engineer Babalola who spoke on behalf of the state Coordinator for the campaign organization disclosed that the Federal Government would make easy funds available for petty and small businesses and as well create more conducive business friendly environment for the traders in the state
According to the coordinator who is also the Minister for the Federal Capital Territory, the federal government had been releasing such soft loans to the state in time past but the present APC led administration has portrayed it to look like its own effort and as such using it as a bait to score cheap political point
The minister promised the traders that the party is already working towards facilitating another soft loans and ensure that it would be benefited by all traders across the state
Speaking earlier, President General, National Traders and Markets Association (NATMAC), Oyo state, Alhaja Idiat Abiola Ilori said the traders have recognized the roles played by President Goodluck Jonathan in developing the state and the nation as a whole
She said, all the traders and market associations in the state weighed the options between the contestants for the office of the president and decided to support President Jonathan for a second term based on his records of achievements.
Reading the copy of a letter addressed to President Jonathan, Alhaja Ilori pledged the total support, allegiance and loyalty of all the traders in Oyo State to the success of President Goodluck Jonathan in the March 28 polls and for Senator Teslim Folarin in order to rescue them from wicked government that had been destroying their businesses with cruel and mindless demolition of shops and stall.
