The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has rejected the results of the Anambra State National Assembly elections announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
APGA’s position was made known by Chief Victor Umeh, the party’s National Chairman and Senatorial candidate, while addressing a world press conference on Monday in Aguluzigbo, Anaocha Local Government Area of the state.
Umeh said that APGA candidates would challenge the results in court because the election was rigged, and described the results as “concocted.’’
He said that the results did not tally with what transpired at the polling units, as they were not generated through the conventional channels of polling units, wards, local governments and constituency.
Umeh said: “From all indications, there was no collation of result from ward to local government; only for them to announce results of the elections.
“I want to tell you that the figures declared by INEC were concocted at night to quickly declare the PDP candidates winners.
“We, therefore, reject the results and will contest them at the tribunal, to regain the mandate given to the party by the people.”
Apart from Umeh, APGA’s other candidates in the National Assembly elections were Chief Godson Ezenagu (Awka North and South); Mr Ifeanyi Ibezi (Idemili North and South) and Mr Dozie Nwankwo (Anocha, Dunukofia and Njikoka) federal constituencies.
