A group, the Katsina State Indigenes Association, Sokoto State chapter, has urged the President-elect, General Muhammadu Buhari to, on assumption of office re-introduce the War Against Indiscipline (WAI), a cardinal policy of the Buhari military administration when he was Head of State from 1983 to 1985.
The Chairman of the group, Alhaji Aliyu Daura, who stated this in a congratulatory message to Buhari in Sokoto on Sunday, and made available to newsmen, said that the re-introduction of WAI would stop the various forms of indiscipline being perpetrated across the country at the moment.
Daura who noted that corruption was “the bane of Nigeria’s socio-economic development,’’ appealed to Buhari to also strive to ensure that corruption was totally eradicated from the country.
According to him, Buhari has an “unparalleled penchant for honesty, accountability, discipline and transparency,’’ adding that his election in the March 28 polls was an indication of the tremendous confidence that Nigerians have in him to bring the desired change.
He also called on the president-elect to pay attention to the current war against insurgency and work towards ending all forms of criminality across the nation and ensuring the security of lives and property.
Daura who further stated that the association was sensitizing youths in Sokoto and Katsina states to the need to steer clear of violence, also urged Nigerians to pray for the success of the Buhari administration.
