The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) on Monday said it had lined up a series of activities nationwide to celebrate its 51st anniversary in all NAF units from May 1 to May 7, 2015.
A statement issued by Air Commodore Dele Alonge, Director of Air Force Information and Public Relations, on behalf of Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Adesola Amosun, said the activities included Juma’at prayers, interdenominational church service and outreach/community relations programmes.
According to the statement, fighter jets would fly past the Abuja Metropolis, adding that the fighter jets would be flying at low level during the aerial displays.
The Chief of Air Staff, it said, would hold a news conference at the Headquarters of the Nigerian Air Force in Abuja on May 7.
A Gala Night to mark the occasion is also to hold in Abuja on the same day, the statement further said.
It, therefore, advised that members of the public should not panic but go about their normal businesses.
