The Bauchi State Governor, Isa Yuguda, has sacked over 500 political aides and retained very few on essential services.
The statement signed by Permanent Secretary, Political Affairs, Hashimu Yakubu, stated that the sacking of all special advisers, senior special assistants and personal assistants was with immediate effect.
It said: “The Executive Governor of Bauchi State, Mallam Isa Yuguda, has approved the disengagement of all Special Advisers (with the exception of the Special Adviser, Due Process).
“Also, all Senior Special Assistants, Special Assistants and Personal Assistants (with the exception of those who work directly under His Excellency, the Executive Governor or the Deputy Governor).
“Affected officers are requested to hand over government property in their possession to heads of organisations where they served.”
Yuguda therefore expressed his appreciation to the political aides who have been disengaged for their contributions to the development of Bauchi State in their various capacities and wishes them the best in their future endeavours.
