President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the appointments of Mallam Garba Shehu as his Senior Special Assistant (Media and Publicity) and Mr Femi Adesina as his Special Adviser (Media and Publicity).
Also appointed is Mr Lawal Kazaure, who is to serve as State Chief of Protocol (SCOP).
A statement issued late on Sunday by Mallam Garba Shehu, who until his appointment was the Director of Media and Publicity of the President-elect and formerly of the All Progressives Congress Campaign Council, said the appointments were with immediate effect.
A veteran journalist, Shehu is a former President of the Nigerian Guild of Editors (NGE), newspaper editor and former media aide to ex-Vice-President Atiku Abubakar.
Adesina, until his appointment, was the Managing Director and Editor-in-Chief of The Sun Newspapers owned by a People’s Democratic Party stalwart, Chief Orji Kalu and is the incumbent NGE President recently re-elected for a second term.
Kazaure, a career Foreign Service Officer, was until his appointment, a Special Assistant (Presidential Matters) in Aso Rock Presidential Villa.
