Rivers State House of Assembly (RSHA) on Tuesday authorised the state Governor, Chief Nyesom Wike, to take a N20 billion loan from Access Bank Plc to finance projects.
This is as the assembly also endorsed Wike’s recognition of Sir Celestine Omehia as a former governor of the state with full rights and privileges.
This loan would be the second approved by the assembly for Wike since his inauguration one month ago.
The assembly had on June 11 authorised the government to obtain a N10 billion loan from Zenith Bank Plc to fund major projects.
In his request to the assembly, Wike said the money would be used to finance on-going road projects like Rumuepirikom-Iwofe road and Abuloma-Woji roads.
