Breaking: Reps Speaker, Dogara, appoints Chief of Staff

The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Yakubu Dogara, has appointed Mr Jerry Manwe, as his Chief of Staff.

Gogara, in a letter, dated June 15, with reference no: NASS/SPK/MGT/VOL.I/002, and addressed to the Clerk of the National Assembly, said the appointment is with immediate effective.

Mamwe is a former Reps member from Taraba State and the immediate past Chairman of the House Committee on Electoral Matters and Chairman, House Committees on Finance and Economic Planning, Interior and Communications.

He was born on June 26, 1958 in Karim Lamido, Taraba, and was first elected a member of the House of Representatives in 1991 and subsequently in 2007 and 2011.

The latter further stated: “Manwe was also a Commissioner of Housing and Urban Development in Taraba State between 1999 and 2001, member, Christian Pilgrim Board, 2001 to 2003, and Chairman, National Commission for Colleges of Education, 2005 to 2007.

“Manwe holds a Certificate in Accounting, Higher National Diploma in Business Management and Bachelor of Technology (in view).’’

It also said the new Chief of Staff attended Lau Primary School from 1966 to 1973, Government Secondary School, Jalingo, 1974 to 1979, Federal Polytechnic Mubi, 1984 to 1986 and Federal University of Technology Yola.
