President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the appointment of Alhaji Ahmed Idris as the new Accountant-General of the Federation (AGF).
Mr Haruna Imrana, Director, Communications, Office of the Head of Civil Service of the Federation (OHCSF), announced this in a statement he signed and issued on behalf of the OHCSF, Mr Danladi Kifasi, obtained by the Street Journal Friday morning.
It said: “The Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Barrister Danladi Kifasi, who announced the appointment said that the appointment is with effect from 25th of June 2015.’’
The new AGF, according to the statement, hails from Kano State, and was born on Nov. 25, 1960.
Idris, it said, was, until his appointment, the Director of Finance and Accounts in the Federal Ministry of Mines and Steel Development.
Idris succeeds Mr Jonah Otunla, who retired from service recently.
