June 12: Ajimobi Declares Friday Public Holiday

Oyo State Governor, Senator Abiola Ajimobi, has declared June 12, as public holiday in the state.

A statement issued by Soji Eniade, the state’s Head of Service, said the holiday is to commemorate the 22nd anniversary of June 12 general election that was annulled by the then military government.

It said: “The Executive Governor of Oyo State, Mr Abiola Ajimobi, has approved Friday, June 12, 2015 be observed as public holiday in the state.’’

According to the statement, the governor urged the people of Oyo State to remain steadfast in their prayers for sustainable development in the State and sustenance of Nigeria’s democracy.
