The Peoples Democratic Party Governors’ Forum, PDPGF, has harmonised the agenda they intend to push when the 36 states governors meet with President Muhammadu Buhari today on the state of the economy and the bailout to enable state governments pay outstanding salaries to workers.
At the meeting which took place last night, the Director General of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum, Asishaana Bayo Okauru, briefed the PDP governors on what would form the agenda for the meeting with the President.
According to him, “the briefing of the PDP governors became necessary to ensure that all the governors are on the same page with other governors on their meeting with other governors.”
Feelers say the PDP governors intend to apprise the president of the discrimination in bringing some of the governorship tribunals to Abuja, instead of the states where the elections took place.
The governors observed that this discriminatory policy was taking place only in PDP-controlled states.
The meeting was attended by Governors Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi (Enugu), Darius Isiaku (Taraba), Olusegun Mimiko (Ondo), John Jonah (Bayelsa), Ifeanyi Okowa (Delta), Okezie Ikpeazu (Abia), Ayo Fayose (Ekiti), Idris Wada (Kogi), Nysome Wike (Rivers), Udo Emmanuel (Akwa Ibom) and Ben Ayade (Cross River).
The acting National Chairman of PDP, Prince Uche Secondus, told reporters after the meeting that the PDP governors are expected to brief the National Working Committee, NWC, on the outcome of their deliberation.
