The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON)has announced the 2015 Hajj fares, according to a statement issued in Abuja signed by the commission’s Head of Media, Alhaji Uba Mana, obtained by the Street Journal in the early hours of Friday.
The statement called on relevant bodies to speed up the process of collecting and remitting the fare to the commission, adding that early collection and remittance was necessary for quick conclusion of arrangements.
According to the statement, the fares for the northern departure zones are: minimum fare N758,476.59 (with 750-dollar Basic Travel Allowance (BTA); medium fare N798,476 (with 1,000-dollar BTA); and maximum fare N897,476 (with 1,500-dollar BTA)
The fares for the southern departure zones are: minimum fare N766,556 (with 750-dollar BTA) , medium fare (with 1,000-dollar BTA) N806,556, while the maximum fare was put at N905,556(with $1,500 BTA).
It added that the cost of Hajj fare components, which included suitcases and uniforms to be used by the pilgrims, were to be determined by the respective State Pilgrims’ Welfare Boards, agencies and commissions.
