The Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR) has sealed 22 filling stations in Abuja and environs over alleged profiteering.
DPR in a statement issued in Abuja on Wednesday by Mr Muhammad, Saidu, its Head, Public Relations, said that 19 of them were sealed up for selling above N87 per litre.
It said that two others were sealed for diversion of petroleum products, while the remaining one was sanctioned for grossly under-dispensing and selling products massively in jerrycans.
The statement reads: “The stations are to remain sealed for at least one month, in addition to forfeiting their bridging claims as directed by the Federal Government.’’
According to the statement, the filling stations sealed for selling Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) above the official price of N87 are:
Kalasma Nigeria Limited, Zuba; Inyas Nigeria Limited, Kaduna Road, Niger State; Jibeco Nigeria Limited and Ahmis Nigeria Limited also on Kaduna Road, Niger State.
Others are Evil Intl. Oil & Gas, One Man Village, Karu; Falke Oil, Double Pole, New Nyanya; Alhaji Isa Maidole & Sons Nig. Ltd., Abuja-Keffi Road, New Nyanya, Nasarawa State; Halims (Invest) Nig. Ltd. Abuja-Keffi Road, New Nyanya, Nasarawa State.
Also sealed for same offence are: Dikas Pet. Coy. Ltd, Abuja-Keffi Road, One Man Village; Danco Oil, Gwagwalada; Sunmart, Giri; Abba Petrol Ltd, Zuba; Febas Energy, Giri; Mayo Kanwa, Doma; Ent Lt Rayhanah Co. Ltd, and Conoil all in Gwagwalada.
Others are: Kelvin Energy Limited and B.B. King Nigeria Limited both on Kaduna Road, Niger State, which were sealed for selling at N105 per litre.
“A.A. Rano Nigeria Ltd, Abuja-Keffi Road, Nyanya was sealed for manipulation of pump price and selling in Jerrycans, while Yaman Nig.Ltd Abuja, on Keffi Road, New Nyanya and Oando, on Herbert Macaulay Way, Abuja, were sanctioned for illegal diversion of PMS,” the statement added.
