Breaking News: I-G Redeploys 3 State Police Commissioners, Others

The Inspector-General of Police, Mr Solomon Arase, has ordered the redeployment of Lagos, Ogun and Rivers State Commissioners of Police.

Force Spokesman, Mr Emmanuel Ojukwu, in a statement, said the redeployment was informed by the I-G’s determination to “inject fresh ideas in the security architecture in the affected states and some other Force Headquarters Formations.”

It said, under the new arrangement, Mr Ajani Fatai Owoseni is redeployed to Lagos as new CP; Mr Abdulmajid Ali is now Ogun State CP, while Mr Chris Ezike is to take charge as Rivers Commissioner of Police.

Also, CP Dan Bature moves to Abuja as CP Intelligence FCIID, Force Headquarters; Valentine Ntomchukwu is the new CP Admin., Dept of Logistics and Supply; while Hyelasinda Kimo Musa becomes the new
CP, Federal Special Anti-Robbery Squad, FCIID FHQ, Abuja.

It added that Mr Kayode Aderanti, the immediate past Lagos CP, has been redeployed to Abuja as CP Admin. Department of Operations; E. J. Ibine now heads Port Authority Eastern Command; while CP Ogbusua Aja Oleh is the new Provost, Force Headquarters, Abuja.

Ojukwu said the I-G expressed the hope that the new postings would reverse the wave of crime in the affected states, and also strengthen administration at the Force Headquarters.
