President Muhammadu Buhari has appointed Mr Abdullahi Muhammadu as the Commandant-General of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC).
Mr Femi Adesina, Presidential Spokesman, made this known in a statement issued in Abuja on Friday and obtained by the Street Journal.
The new NSCDC Commandant-General, who, until his appointment, was an assistant commandant-general of NSCDC, succeeds Dr Ade Abolurin, who has retired from service.
Muhammadu, from Muye, Lapai LG of Niger State, holds a B.Sc in Sociology from the University of Sokoto and a Master’s degree in Law Enforcement and Criminal Justice from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria.
The statement added that President Buhari wished Abolurin a happy retirement.
