Code Of Conduct Tribunal Summons 2 Adamawa Perm. Secs. Over Assets Non-Declaration

The Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT), on Thursday in Abuja ordered two Adamawa State Permanent Secretaries, to appear before it to face charges bordering on their failure to declare their assets.

Justice Danladi Umar, the Tribunal Chairman, ordered the accused, Dr Bala Usman and Mamud Abubakar, to appear before him on Nov. 16, after listening to the submissions of their counsel and that of the prosecution.

Justice Umar said: “The accused persons are, hereby, ordered to appear before this tribunal on November 16 to face trial.’’

At Thursday’s resumed trial of the accused, Mr Aliyu Ahmad, Counsel to the accused persons, had urged the tribunal to adjourn to allow him time to study a motion filed by the prosecutor.

Ahmad informed the court that he had filed a no case application and served same on the prosecuting counsel, Mr Peter Danladi.

The prosecuting counsel, he said, had also filed a reply to his no case application and would need time to respond.

Responding, the prosecuting counsel said he was not objecting to the application for adjournment.

He, however, apologised for the delay in filing and serving the defense counsel with the reply.

The judge adjourned the case until November 16 for the trial of the accused Perm Sects.
