President Muhammadu Buhari has relieved Alhaji Sanusi Ado Bayero, the Managing Director of the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) of his appointment.
Bayero’s sack is contained in a statement issued in Abuja on Thursday by Mr Femi Adesina, the Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the president.
According to Adesina, Alhaji Habibu Abdullahi, a former Managing Director of the NPA, has been reinstated and is to take over from Bayero with immediate effect.
It further directed Bayero to hand over the management of the NPA and all government property in his possession to Abdullahi.
The statement which added that President Buhari wished Bayero well in his future endeavours, did not, however, give any reasons for the changes.
It would be recalled that Bayero was appointed by former president Goodluck Jonathan to replace Abdullahi in April in one of his last minute appointments with barely a month left to the end of his tenure.
