The Council of Legal Education has announced the release of the results of the Bar final resit examinations conducted in April, and the (2014/2015) regular students’ Bar final examinations conducted in May.
The announcement is contained in statement issued in Abuja and signed by Prof. O.A Onadeko, the Nigerian Law School Director-General.
According to the statement, the Call to the Bar ceremonies for the successful candidates will hold from Oct. 20 to 22, in Abuja.
It said the results for the April 2015 Bar Final Examinations (Resit Students) indicated that a total of 2,736 students wrote the examinations and 1,648, that is, 60.2 per cent, were successful.
The statement said 990 candidates, that is, 36.2 per cent, failed, while 98 candidates (3.6 per cent) made conditional pass.
Also, in the May 2015 Bar Final Examinations, a total of 2,852 students participated, out of which 1,422, that is, 68.5 per cent, were successful.
It said a total of 815 candidates, that is, 28.6 per cent, failed, while 83 candidates (2.8 per cent) were placed on conditional pass.
A further breakdown of the results released indicated that four candidates made First Class Degrees.
They are: SANI, Fatima Bombom, Abuja Campus; MBONU Genevieve Chinyeaka, Lagos Campus; OLOWU, Adetutu Abisoye, Lagos Campus and ABAJUO, Reason Emma, Enugu Campus.
The statement added that 109 candidates were graded in Second Class Upper, while 418 were graded in Second Class Lower and 83 were graded on conditional pass.
