The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) on Wednesday said it had appointed and redeployed some of its senior officers.
Air Commodore Dele Alonge, NAF Spokesman,who announced the changes in a statement issued in Abuja, explained that the postings and appointments are in line with the Chief of Air Staff’s effort to transform the Nigerian Air Force for greater operational efficiency.
According to Commodore Alonge, four branch chiefs, three air officers commanding and two commandants are affected in the new deployments.
They are: Air Vice Marshal A.A. Iya, formally the Chairman Air Exposition and International Liaison Secretariat, now appointed Chief of Training and Operations; AVM A.M. Mamu the former Air Officer Commanding, Training Command Kaduna, redeployed as NAF’s Chief of Administration.
Others are: AVM I.J. Yahaya, formerly the Director of Works, has been appointed the Chief of Logistics and Communications, while Air Commodore CU Usoh, the former Director of Air Engineering is now the Chief of Aircraft Engineering.
It said the new Air Officers Commanding include: AVM R.A. Ojuawo, former Director of Operations HQ NAF, now appointed the Air Officer Commanding, Tactical Air Command, Makurdi; AVM W.A. Ahmed, now the new Air Officer Commanding, Training Command Kaduna; and AVM M.A. Muhammed, formerly Managing Director, NAF Investment Limited, now the Air Officer Commanding, Logistics Command, Lagos.
The statement added that two new Commandants were affected in the changes. They are: AVM M.C. Iloenyosi, formerly Chief of Training and Operations, NAF HQ, who is now the new Commandant, Armed Forces Resettlement Centre, Oshodi; and AVM SA Dambo, formerly Senior Air Staff Officer, Training Command, now Commandant, Armed Force Command and Staff College Jaji, Kaduna State.
