The Wife of the President, Mrs Aisha Muhammadu Buhari, has decribed the late matriarch of the Awolowo family Hannah Idowu as a pride to the nigerian women for standing firm and courageous on national issues that propel the true position of the gender .Mrs Aisha Buhari stated this when she paid a condolence visit to the family of the late Sage at his country home in Ikenne town, Ogun State.
She recalled the numerous times when Mrs Awolowo used every opportunity to advise women to always project their God given prowess to contribute to every aspect of national development ,unity and peace through motherhood and good upbringing of children
She described the deceased, who died at the age of 99 years as a great pillar that would be remembered for her contribution to women development whose demise was a sad ,great loss to nigerians but remain a role model to the women of “this great county”.
The president’s wife recalled with pride the reception she accorded her during the campaign for 2015 general election that brought “her husband “into power on May 29.
She urged women in the country to support and be honest to their spouses as it was the secret that made her mother to excel in life “being very supportive ,,obedient ,honest and useful companion to the Late Sage throughout his travails in the political arena” .
She thanked the wife of the president for the visit, describing it is a sign of great Honour to her mother and the family.
She disclosed that HID Awolowo would be buried on Nov. 25, a day she would have turned 100 years.
Mrs Buhari , who was received by the Deputy Governor of Ogun, Mrs Yetunde Onanuga and Mrs Osinbajo was taken round the Awolowo Library ,museum and mausoleum with her entourage wife of Nasarawa state Governor Hajiya Mairo Almakura Wife of the former Governor of Rivers state Mrs Ameachi ,former Deputy Governor of Plateau State, Mrs Pouline Tallen, and prominent Politician Hajiya Binta Muazu .
