Ekiti State Governor, Mr Ayodele Fayose, has approved the appointment of Professor Samuel Bandele as the new Vice-Chancellor of the State University.
A statement issued in Ado-Ekiti on Thursday by Mr Idowu Adelusi, the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, said that the governor acted on the recommendations of the Governing Council of the university.
According to the statement, the appointment of Bandele, who emerged first out of the three candidates who were interviewed for the job, takes effect from December 2, 2015, when the outgoing Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Oladipo Aina’s tenure ends on December 1.
It said Fayose congratulated the new vice-chancellor on his appointment and urged him to improve on the good work of his predecessor in office, so as to take the university to a lofty height.
The statement added that Governor Fayose also thanked the out-going V-C for his immense contribution to the physical, social and economic growth of the university and prayed for God’s guidance for Aina in his future endeavours.
