The Federal Capital Territory police command has debunked the news of a bomb explosion in Karu area on Saturday night.
Spokesman of the command, ASP Anjuguri Manzah, told newsmen on Sunday that no bomb explosion took place in Karu as romoured.
Also debunking the report, the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) on Sunday said the Saturday explosion was the sound of a blast from a nearby quarry firm.
Debunking the rumour, Mr Ishaya Chonoko, NEMA Operations Coordinator, said that the quarry company carried out the blast without police permission.
“I live in Karu, there was nothing like bomb blast in Karu; it was a quarry company that carried out that balst,” Chonoko said.
The Street Journal recalls that a section of the social media had reported that a bomb blast occurred in Karu on Saturday night.
