It has emerged that behind the seemingly transparent moves to reposition the Nigerian oil and gas sector lies the silent but active hand of Alison Madueke, the former petroleum minister. Through a well orchestrated machination of various agents within the corridors of power but unbeknown to the President, individuals loyal to the former petroleum minister are being carefully lined up to assume reigns of power at the NNPC with the elevation of Dr. Kachikwu to the position of State Minister for Petroleum Resources.
Reliable information reaching our reporters is that Diezani loyalist Engineer David Ige, who under her reign was the Executive Director for Gas has been polished for presentation to the President as potential successor to Dr. Kachikwu at NNPC.
Typical of these sinister schemes, a back-up plan of this scheme includes a plot to suggest Sola Oyinlola, a Schlumberger executive as the MD NNPC should David Ige be rejected.
The out going NNPC Group Managing Director Dr.Ibe Kachikwu who has been appointed as the minister designate, is alleged to be part of this grand scheme having planted his own cabal at NNPC where the biggest tribalism has so far been witnessed in the history of the organisation in Kachikwu’s appointments
It could be recollected that PDP Publicity Secretary Mr.Olisha Metuh recently made it known that Dr.Ibe Kachikwu had been lobbying PDP for the top job and had he submitted his resume to the PDP party hierarchy to replace madam Allison Madukwe. Dr Kachikwu is a known PDP benefactor so this comes as a little surprise.
Diezani might well have her way when it is all said and done.
