The payment of salaries of Federal civil servants for the month of October, 2015, which has been delayed, will be paid by Tuesday November 3, the Presidency has assured.
The Street Journal reports that Federal Civil Servants and workers across the states of the federation have yet to be paid their October, 2015 salaries.
The Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Mr Garba Shehu, explained in a statement that the delayed payment of salaries was caused by the crash of computers at the point of payment of the salaries in late October.
According to the statement, the delay was inadvertent due to the unforeseen technical challenges which ensued, and noted that President Buhari was very much concerned about the ordeals which the workers had gone through due to the delay.
“The President is seriously concerned about the ordeals of civil servants on account of delayed payment of salaries.
“The happiness and welfare of the people is one of the cardinal objectives of any democratically elected government.
“The President remains committed to these objectives, not only on paper but also in practice,” it said.
President Buhari, the statement further said, thanked Nigerians for their patience and understanding in the face of the prevailing circumstance.
