Plateau State Governor, Rt. Hon. Simon Bako Lalong, has approved the appointment of Mr Izam Azi, mni, as the acting Head of Civil Service of the state, with immediate effect.
This is contained in a statement issued in Jos on Monday by the Director of Press and Public Affairs, Government House, Mr Emmanuel Nanle.
According to the statement, Azi, who until his appointment, was the Permanent Secretary, Government House Administration, takes over from Mrs Huldah Fwangchi, who has proceeded on mandatory retirement in line with extant Civil Service Rules.
It said the Governor expressed his profound appreciation to Fwangchi for her years of meritorious professional service, the benefit of which his administration had benefited.
The statement said Lalong noted her intervention in the resolution of the labour unrest, which his administration inherited.
Lalong also gave the former Head of Service a pat on the back for her successful reorganization of the Civil Service, which she had kick-started in accordance with the APC administration’s Civil Service Reform Programme.
The Governor also said that Azi was expected to bring his wealth of experience, which he garnered over the years, to bear in positioning the State Civil Service for excellence and professionalism in Service delivery.
