Wife of the President Mrs Aisha Buhari has appealed to the organized private sector and well meaning Nigerians to come to the aid of Internally Displaced Persons in Borno and other states affected to relocate home after spending two to three years in the camps.
Mrs Buhari said “to a lot of them its like starting life all over again and the little assistance from good natured citizens will go a long way in helping them to settle down and start life afresh .
Speaking further the wife of the president said she had already communicated to five companies while eight truck-load of food had been made available so far for distribution to designated beneficiaries .
The wife of the president was speaking while receiving a delegation of four women who recently climbed the highest mountain in Africa, Mount Kilamanjaro in aid of raising funds for the IDP’S .
Mrs Buhari noted that the intervention of the private sector was a way of discharging their corporate social responsibility to the society and a path to nation building.
The four women who were led by the wife of the governor of Ogun State Mrs Funso Amosun include Remi Abere, Uzo Nwani and Debo Laditan spent ten days in climbing the mountain as a way of raising funds for the Internally Displaced Persons.
The gesture was initiated by Remi Abere to elicit necessary humanitarian intervention celebrating her birthday to raise awareness on the plight of the displaced persons .
