Breaking: Coast Cleared for Bello’s Inauguration as Kogi Governor on Wednesday

Kogi Governor elect, Akhaji Yahaya Bello can now heave a sigh of relief following the dismissal of motions by the Tribunal, Monday, which sought to stop his inauguration on Wednesday.
The State Governorship Election Petitions Tribunal in Lokoja dismissed the two motions seeking interlocutory injunction to stop the inauguration.
The two motions on notice seeking an order of the Tribunal were earlier filed by the counsels to Governor Idris Wada of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Chris Uche (SAN) and that of the Labour Party, Reuben Egwuaba.
The Tribunal’s Chairman, Justice Halima S. Mohammed in her ruling dismissed the motions, saying that though the Tribunal has jurisdiction contrary to insinuations, but the motions were not contained in the original petitions but came via motion on notice.
She also held that if the Tribunal grants the order being sought by the two parties, it would affect the life of the original case before the court.
