RIVERS State Governor, Chief Nyesom Wike, has dedicated his electoral victory at the Supreme Court to the people of Rivers State.
He said it was a victory for the rule of law, democracy and confirmation of the mandate “freely” given to him by the people of the state.
The Governor said in statement, Thursday, signed by his Special Assistant on Electronic Media, Simeon Nwakaudu, that his victory would lead to greater delivery of democracy dividend across the state.
Wike, however, called on the All Progressives Congress governorship candidate in the 2015 election, Dr. Dakuku Peterside to join hands with his administration to develop the state.
Meanwhile, the APC in the state promised that it would soon issue a statement on the Supreme Court verdict.

Supreme Court, Wednesday upheld the election of Nyesom Wike of the Peoples Democratic Party as governor of the oil-rich Rivers State.
The court gave the ruling validating the April 11, 2015 governorship election but did not provide reasons for its judgment.
The apex Court fixed February 12 to give reasons for its ruling.
