EFCC Has Right to Probe You, Court Tells Kuku

A Federal High Court in Lagos on Wednesday told former Presidential Adviser on Amnesty Programme, Kingsley Kuku, to prepare to be investigated over corruption related offences by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commissions (EFCC).
This is as he loses bid to stop his investigation or arrest by the Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC).
The trial Judge, Okon Abang while delivering judgment in the suit Kuku filed against EFCC and DSS, declared that the anti graft commission has statutory obligation to investigate Kuku over alleged financial misappropriation during his tenure as amnesty co-coordinator.
Justice Abang also held that the EFCC has the right to arrest Kuku if he refused to honour invitation sent to him.
The court told him that his travai has nothing to do with the political party he belongs but rather a case of whether he tilled his fingers when he was in charge of the Amnesty Programme.
Kuku had filed a suit against the EFCC and the Department of State Services (DSS) praying the court for protection from arrest by agents of the commission and DSS operatives.
The applicant who is outside the country for medical reasons alleged that there was purported plan to arrest him immediately he entered the country.
