Mark Wins Benue South Rerun Election

Former Senate President David Mark of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has been declared the winner of the rerun election into Benue South Senatorial District election held February 2
Declaring Mark the winner, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) said the former Senate President polled a total of 84, 192 while his main contender, Daniel Onjeh of All Progressives Congress (APC) scored 71, 621 votes.
Mark won in five local government areas while Onjeh won in four.
The April 2015 Election, which Mark won, was disputed by the APC candidate. The case went as far as the Appeal Court which ordered a rerun after nullifying the election.
Mark, a-two-time Senate President, is knowm for his ability to have held the Senate together for a period he was the Senate President without rancour.
