President Muhammadu Buhari has eulogised the late Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Samuel Odulana Odugade as a blessing to Nigeria.
The President said Olubadan lived without blemish, worthy of emulation, he said
The late Olubafan died on January 19, 2016, at the age of 101.
Buhari, who said this on Friday was represented by the Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo at the funeral service of the Monarch at the St. Peter’s Cathedra, Aremo, Ibadan.
Osinbajo said but for the short vacation the President went, Buhari would have graced the occasion.
He said, “I bring greetings from the President who would have wanted to be here personally. He had in fact promised to be here but he was unable to do so because he just arrived in the country only yesterday.
“I am happy and honoured to be here not just as a representative of the President but in my own right as a proud son of the Olubadan. We must truly be grateful to the Almighty God that a man of such substance worked amongst us.
He said Nigeria would remain proud that a forthright king like Odulana lived among us and left a legacy worthy of emulation.
