Breaking: Gunmen Kill Two Military Officers in Rivers

Ahead the rerun elections in Rivers State weekend, two military officers have reportedly been killed in Port Harcourt on Thursday.
The Nigerian Army confirmed the killing and said it was by gunmen suspected to be sea pirates.
The Public Relation Officer of the 2 Brigade Command of the Nigerian Army, Port Harcourt, Captain Lazarus Eli confirmed the incident.
He said the troops on patrol had a fierce battle with the gunmen and that the Major and a soldier sustained serious bullet injuries during the encounter but died on their way to the hospital.
The All Progressive Congress (APC) in Rivers State had raised the alarm about the killing in a statement.
It said that an army officer and three other soldiers were killed in Abonnema, Akuku-Toru Local Government Area of the state on Thursday.
Court had on Wednesday ruled that Army should not be deployed in the rerun election on Saturday as sought by Peoples Democratic Party in the State.
