Breaking: Lagos Sacks LASBCA GM, Others over Building Collapse

Lagos State Governor, Akinwun!I Ambode had come on hard on agencies responsible for monitoring and control of building structures in the state.
Following the collapsed of a five storey building a under construction at Lekki Gardens, Ikusenla Road, Ikate Elegushi, in Eti- Osa Local Government, last week, Lagos State Governor, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode, Monday, sacked the General Manager of the state Building Control Agency, LASBCA, Engr. Adeigbe Olushola.
The Governor also sacked the Head of Inspection and Quality Control in the Agency, Adeoye Thomas Adeyemi, the Zonal District Officer in the Agency, Dosunmu Gbadebo, while the Zonal Head of Eti-Osa West of the Agency, Mrs. Akinde Adenike Sherifat was compulsorily retired from the Civil Service.
Ambode in a statement by the State Head of Service, Mrs. Olabowale Ademola, said the affected officers were dismissed having been indicted of negligence, which according to him, is an act of misconduct under the Public Service Rule 040401.
Recall that as at Thursday, March 10, 2015, about 34 people were reported to have died in the collapsed Lekki five-storey building including artesans, labourers, hawkers, women and children while the number of those injured is yet to be made public.
The promoters of the building have since been charged to court.
